Coach TJ Atley

Coach TJ Atley grew up in Vancouver, BC, Canada as a multi-sport athlete, where her primary sports were field hockey, ice hockey and golf. She played on 4 BC Teams, Team Canada (1983) and won 4 times on the University of Washington golf team. Coach TJ played in 4 majors, including the 1986 US Open. Highest ranking in Canada – was 7th as a junior and 4th as an amateur.

After her playing career, Coach TJ has dedicated her life to teaching and coaching. She has placed over 150 students in school in Canada and the USA, with 8 players placed in the Ivy League. She was honoured with the 2021 and 2022 Junior Leader of the Year for the LPGA Western Section (11 countries, 11 states and 2 provinces).

Recently, she has worked since 2020 on the Golf Tier System (GTS), developing “How to rate a golfer without using a handicap.” GTS is used to identify key skill sets that are important to golf. It helps golfers to measurably improve their game by providing a quantitative blueprint back by 40 years of research. GTS uses a systematic, holistic approach including comprehensive skill training and critical thinking by establishing a workable toolbox.
